Large-format 3D printing for experiential builds

Large-scale 3D printing creates oversized props, sculptural forms, and dimensional brand pieces in our own shop. Each piece is finished with detailed surfaces and coatings designed to look precise under event lighting and on camera. Send us a model, concept, or complete project, and we will turn it into a finished build.

What it is

Large-format 3D printing creates oversized, complex forms directly from digital models, building each piece layer by layer without molds or traditional tooling. Unlike a standard print shop that delivers a finished part, we create production-ready elements for experiential builds. Our printed pieces are designed to handle touring, accept scenic finishes like a fabricated prop, and maintain a flawless appearance on camera, not just look good straight off the printer.

Formats

What we print, and what it's for

Large-format 3D printing creates complex shapes faster and more efficiently than traditional carving or molding methods. These are the types of custom printed elements we produce most often for experiential builds, events, and brand installations.

01
Oversized props and hero pieces
Giant products and centerpiece installations printed at scale and finished to become the main visual focus of a space.
02
Dimensional logos and lettering
3D letters, logos, and brand elements printed with sharp details and clean surfaces, ready for paint, wrapping, or final finishing.
03
Sculptural and organic forms
Curved designs, characters, and complex geometries that would require extensive hand carving, produced quickly with precise digital fabrication.
04
Oversized product replicas
Your product recreated at 5x, 50x, or larger scale with accurate details designed to hold up under camera views.
05
Repeatable set pieces
Consistent components produced for multi-city tours, ensuring every printed piece matches from the first installation to the final one.
06
Molds and patterns
Printed master models and production molds created for casting, vacuum forming, and repeat manufacturing without traditional tooling.
The shop

What our shop can handle

Large-format 3D printing success depends on the right process, materials, and production approach. Before choosing a print partner, these are the key factors that determine whether a printed piece performs properly on site.

Build size
Large-scale parts measured in meters, with options to print oversized pieces as complete forms.
Beyond the build plate
Larger designs produced in sections, assembled, and finished with seamless joins.
Print methods
Pellet and filament printing selected based on the size, strength, and purpose of the piece.
Repeatability
Consistent production where the first part matches the fortieth, even across multi-city tours.
Materials
Rigid, flexible, and recycled materials chosen to suit the function, finish, and environment.
Detail and scale
Fine surface details for close views while maintaining a strong visual impact from a distance.
After the print
Parts filled, sanded, painted, and finished in-house for a complete production-ready result.
Scope
From a single custom prop to a complete experiential build.
We produce oversized pieces in sections, assemble them, and conceal seams so the final result reads as one seamless object. Share the finished size and desired look, and we will recommend the right printing approach before production begins.
Materials

What we print in

3D printing materials determine how a piece looks, performs, and survives in the real world. Tell us how the part will be used, indoors or outdoors, handled or hands-off, and we will match the right material and printing method.

01
PLA and PETG
Reliable materials for props and sculptural forms, offering sharp detail, smooth finishing, and strong results for camera-ready pieces.
02
ABS and ASA
Durable, heat-resistant materials suited for pieces that travel, require structural strength, or operate in outdoor environments.
03
Recycled and bio pellets
Lower-impact material options for large-scale prints, using pellet extrusion for efficient production, speed, and reduced waste.
04
Fiber-reinforced materials
Enhanced strength and stiffness for oversized pieces that need to maintain shape, support weight, or handle demanding conditions.
05
Flexible TPU
Impact-resistant material with flexibility and movement, ideal for parts that need to bend, grip, or absorb contact.
05
Other materials
Working from a technical specification, sustainability requirement, or custom project brief? Share the details, and we will recommend the best printing solution.
Getting started

What to send us.

Print-ready projects start with whatever you have. Send us a 3D file, render, sketch, photo, or idea, and our team will prepare it for production instead of sending you away.

01
A 3D model
An STL, OBJ, STEP, or CAD file is ideal. No model yet? A render, product photo, or simple sketch is enough to begin.
02
Real-world scale
Share the final size the piece needs to be built at. Incorrect scale or unitless files are common reasons production gets delayed.
03
The desired finish
Matte, gloss, painted, wrapped, metallic, or textured, the final appearance helps determine the material choice and preparation process.
04
Indoor or outdoor use
Where the piece will live and how it will be handled determines the required strength, durability, and protective treatment.
04
Production timeline
Provide the load-in date, not only the delivery date. We will review the schedule and confirm what is realistic for printing, finishing, and installation.
No model? No problem
A sketch, photo, render, or AI-generated image is enough to get started. Our design team can create the 3D model, prepare the file, and make it ready for printing.

Process

From model to finished piece

Six steps turn your 3D model into a finished printed piece, whether you send a single file or an entire project. Our workflow covers preparation, printing, assembly, finishing, and delivery from start to finish.

01
Model
Send a 3D model, render, sketch, or reference. We work with the information you have and help prepare it for production.
02
Prep
We review the model, identify potential issues, and confirm scale, material, and finish requirements before printing begins.
03
Print
Each piece is printed using the right technology and equipment. Larger forms can be produced in sections for cleaner, faster production.
04
Assemble
Printed sections are bonded together, seams are concealed, and the final form is checked against specifications.
05
Finish
Parts are filled, sanded, primed, painted, wrapped, or refined to achieve the required surface quality and visual finish.
05
Deliver
Finished pieces are carefully packed, shipped, or installed on-site by our production crew.
Why us

Why experiential printing is different.

Production-ready printing requires more than a successful print, the piece must look right, perform on site, and survive the demands of a real build. We combine 3D printing with fabrication, finishing, and installation expertise to create pieces designed for events, tours, and brand experiences.

01
We finish what we print
Our printing process works alongside scenic, paint, carpentry, and installation teams. We plan each piece with finishing, packing, assembly, and load-in requirements in mind.
02
Built to travel, not just to print
Wall thickness, weight, joins, and structure are considered from the start, helping large pieces handle transport, rigging, and multi-city tours while maintaining their appearance.
02
Models fixed, not bounced back
We review digital models before production, identify issues such as thin walls or incorrect geometry, and recommend solutions so the print succeeds the first time.
“
Every panel fit first time. On a two-night load-in, that is the whole game.

What happens next to the cut.

Cut parts rarely travel alone. These are the shops they move through next, all in the same building.

FAQ

Large-format 3D printing questions.

Will the layer lines show?+

Not when we're done. We fill, sand, and finish printed pieces so they read as a solid painted prop on camera, not a 3D print.

Is a printed piece durable enough to tour?+

Yes, when it's built for it. We choose the material and wall thickness for how the piece gets handled, rigged, and shipped, so it holds up across a multi-city run, not just opening night.

Can I order printing on its own, without a full build?+

Yes. Plenty of clients send us a model for a piece only. We also take it further, filling, painting, and finishing before it ships, if you want.

What file do you need?+

A 3D model such as STL, OBJ, or STEP is ideal. If all you have is a render, a photo, or a sketch, send it anyway. Our design team can model it up rather than sending you away to find someone who can.

How fast can you turn a piece around?+

It depends on size, material, and finish, so we give you a real date when we see the model. If you're up against a load-in, say so early and we'll tell you honestly whether it's doable.
